BeforeYouTrust helps you pause and inspect a message for common risk signals before you act. It is not a guarantee that a sender, website, or message is safe or fraudulent.

When reporting a technical problem, please include the app version, iOS version, device model, the approximate time of the problem, and what you were doing. Do not send passwords, payment details, authentication codes, or the full content of a sensitive message unless it is essential and you are comfortable sharing it.
It reviews the text you provide for signals such as requests for credentials, remote access, sensitive information, payment, pressure, or secrecy. It highlights supporting quotations and gives a suggested next step. It does not verify who sent the message, investigate a business, scan a URL, or establish whether a message is definitely legitimate or fraudulent.
Only after you accept the in-app consent and tap Check message, the message
text and short excerpts derived from it are sent to TypeSafe through
api.typesafe.pro to perform the analysis. No account, device identifier,
local history, or original image is included in that request.
No. Text recognition runs on your device. The recognised text can be checked only if you choose to send it after consent. A shared image can remain locally until you import or discard it, but the image itself is not sent to TypeSafe for analysis.
An internet connection is required for an analysis. The service may be temporarily unavailable, rate limited, or unable to process invalid or overly long input. Your draft remains available so you can edit it and retry. The app does not replace a failed check with a made-up result.
Yes. BeforeYouTrust does not require an account, sign-in, or registration.
Use the History and draft controls in Settings to delete local records or turn off future history saving. The current editable draft expires after up to 24 hours, and saved history expires after up to 30 days when history is enabled. Deleting the app and its data also removes local app data. Removing local data does not recall a request already received by TypeSafe.
Yes. Use the iOS Share sheet and choose BeforeYouTrust. The shared item is held locally until you choose whether to import it. The Share Extension never starts an analysis automatically.
The app interface and on-device screenshot recognition support English and French. A check can still be attempted with other text, but its usefulness may be reduced.
